Happy New Year!

Welcome to the start of another year!

What is it about the beginning of a new year that makes us want to start afresh? To draw a line in the sand and radically transform our lives?

Pick one or more of the following! This year I will:

  • Lose weight
  • Eat healthily
  • Get fit
  • Get organised
  • Get my finances under control

New Years’ resolutions do not work. In fact they set ourselves up for disappointment. We are all hopeful and excited on January 1st, and by the time it’s the end of January, we’ve stopped going to the gym, stopped cooking at home, and blown our credit card limits.

Instead of creating a new year’s resolution, how about creating a baby step to move you towards one of your goals?

For example if you want to lose some weight, how about starting by enlisting the help of a nutritionist to start you off on your journey? A good nutritionist will give you a plan to achieve your goals and will be your accountability partner.

Baby steps work,and most importantly, are sustainable.

So throw away your big, lofty new years’ resolutions, and take it nice and slowly. You’ll definitely get there in the end!
