Learning CPR can save a life!

Just attended a fabulous 2-hour workshop on how to perform CPR and use a defibrillator. Learning these simple techniques should be mandatory training for everyone! Once interesting statistic that really shocked me was that here in Melbourne, less than 10% of people survive a cardiac arrest outside of a hospital. However, in the city of Seattle, USA, that figure is as high as 40%! This difference has been attributed to the fact that there are many more defibrillators there, plus they have more people who have undergone the relevant training. Take a look at this video from the British Heart Foundation – it is extremely entertaining and gets the message across beautifully!
