Have you ever been woken from your sleep with a jolt with painful leg cramps?
Magnesium is absolutely vital for muscle contraction. And these days, around 80% of us have been estimated to be magnesium deficient!
When we lack magnesium, we can experience a whole host of problems including muscle cramps, fatigue, irritability, anxiety, poor memory and migraines.
It’s vital to ensure that you’re getting plenty of this magical mineral via your diet or through smart supplementation.
As a first port of call, look to improve your diet.
One great source of magnesium are green leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, parsley, coriander and silverbeet that are all loaded with magnesium. (think delicious green smoothies).
There are also many different magnesium supplements – in the forms of tablets, sprays and powders, and via your skin with bath crystals. An Epsom salt bath soak is a fabulous way to both relax before bed and to absorb magnesium via your skin at the same time!
